Why it matters
The opposition period is 2 months from publication and cannot be extended. After that, the only route is an invalidation action before the courts, which is slower and considerably more expensive.
Counterfeiters and bad-faith applicants often file first and wait. Catching these applications at publication is the cheapest form of brand protection in Türkiye.

- The Official Trademark Bulletin is published twice a month. Each issue is scanned as soon as it is released.
- Can you also watch other countries?
- Yes. Through our associate network we can watch other jurisdictions, including the EU, the US and China.
- Who can file an opposition in Türkiye?
- The owner of an earlier mark or other earlier right, through a registered Turkish attorney if the owner is not domiciled in Türkiye.
